"For waters shall break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert." Isaiah 35:6b

Oasis- (another definition)- "A place of peace, safety or happiness in the midst of trouble or difficulty. Something serving as a refuge, relief, or pleasant change in what is usual, annoying or difficult. A haven, harbor, retreat or shelter."

Isaiah 35
1 The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the rose and the autumn crocus.
2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of [Mount] Carmel and [the plain] of Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty and splendor and excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble and tottering knees.
4 Say to those who are of a fearful and hasty heart, Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance; with the recompense of God He will come and save you.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then shall the lame man leap like a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing for joy. For waters shall break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
7 And the burning sand and the mirage shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lay resting, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 And a highway shall be there, and a way; and it shall be called the Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way.
9 No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk on it.
10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Jim and Cheri Garrett have a heart and passion for children, youth, adults, and ministry leaders ... to see them discover who they are in Jesus and how to walk that identity out in their daily lives. They believe that all Christians can and should be used mightily by God.  The Garretts have a calling and anointing to mentor and train leaders, passing on that passion to make a difference in the lives of those to whom they minister. Jim and Cheri were both reared in rural South Carolina during the turbulent 60s and 70s amidst racism and alcoholism in both of their families. By coming to know Jesus at young ages, they have seen how God can bring healing and freedom ... no matter what the circumstancesof life may stack against you.

The Garretts have been married for 35 years and have been in ministry their entire married life.  Cheri loves her family (hubby, children, grandchildren ... and dogs) as well as the pursuit of God's purpose and plan for her life.  She is a gifted teacher of God's Word in a very practical way ... and she has a heart to see people healed and set free.  She has ministered with Jim in every capacity and IS his organization. (No, that last statement IS NOT a typo.)

Jim is a forever student who loves to both learn and teach.  He has been/is a youth/children's pastor, musician, worship leader, teacher, senior pastor, college/seminary professor, school administrator, husband, father, and grandfather. He, too, loves his dogs and misses owning his horses.

Most importantly, however, they are both lovers of God and His people. They have pastored in Florida, South Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. They have also served in various capacities as missionaries in Israel, the Caribbean, Latin America, South America, and in the USA. They have also conducted several training seminars, camps and camp meetings.

In addition, Jim has taught Greek, Christian Education, Missions, Hermeneutics, and Practical Ministry classes and lectures at Mid-West Bible College, Vision Bible College, Lee University, Emmanuel College, Grace College and Seminary, and Ashland Theological Seminary.

The Garretts are open to minister in your setting, whether church, small group, conference, college, seminary, or other. Contact them through the various media list below.
